The one missing link is that none of my son's grandparents are going to be present to witness and share this special day. My husband's parents have both passed away, my dad passed away in 2011 and my mother is too far into dementia to be able to handle the journey and all the upheaval. I know they will be there in spirit, but I also will miss seeing the look on their faces as they see the little boy they had such a hand in raising take this enormous step in his life.
