A Bold Video: Lisa Nigro

We’re going bold in anticipation of our Second Annual National Caregiving Conference!

The conference steering committee members and our conference presenters have created videos about our conference and our bold moments. This year’s conference theme is our Bold Moments: Before, During, After. Lisa Nigro, who cares for her son, shares her bold caregiving moment, below. Lisa will share more of her story in a panel discussion, A Life Interrupted: Picking Up the Pieces, which happens on Saturday, November 11.

We hope you will join us on November 10 and 11 for our Second Annual National Caregiving Conference. Check out our agenda and then register to join us.

About Lisa
In 2015, Lisa Nigro became the full-time caregiver to her 24-year-old son Nick who sustained a brain injury due to the West Nile Virus. Before this tragic event Lisa worked as a community activist for the homeless, persons with disabilities and animal welfare.

In 2010 she received the Presidential Citizens Medal from President Obama for her work with Inspiration Corporation which supports the homeless in Chicago. Lisa has shared her vision on “Oprah” and “Good Morning America” and recently in People magazine. She has been using alternative methods alongside conventional medicine to assist in her son’s healing journey and she is convinced all of her previous work has led to this one holy moment in caregiving for her son.

We are so very grateful for the support of the following sponsors of our National Caregiving Conference:
